Imam Asim of the Makkah Masjid Mosque awarded the MBE

Congratulations to the Imam of Makkah Masjid, Qari Muhammad Asim, who has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for his ground-breaking initiatives in enhancing community relations and for his work in engaging young people. Here is a picture of the Imam being congratulated by the Rev Steve Smith last Saturday.

Imam Asim has sent us the following message:

I am incredibly humbled and am deeply indebted to you and everyone at All Hallows for their kindness, support and inspiration throughout the years. Without this support, it would not have been possible to achieve this. The award is a recognition of hard work of very many people, including people at All Hallows.

Leeds City Council is holding a celebratory event at the Leeds Civic Hall for the Imam. You can read more about the Imam’s award on the Leeds Makkah Masjid website.
