Reflection 18th August 2013

Prayer is a topographical map of the soul. The way a person prays signals the degree of breadth and maturity that underlies the spiritual life she or he brings to it. It’s the prayers we say that expose to the world the mountains of life up which we’ve climbed, the gullies of growth through which we’ve walked on our way to wholeness. It is the inimitable sign of the values we bring to life and the people for whose cares we care.
(Joan Chittister)

(Reflections are provided each week by a member of the congregation.)
