Reflection 24th August 2014

Christ-day, the beat of light on sand.
Christ-night, the heat which, laid in the hand
as a new egg, nestles like a child.
My summer Jesus – tender as the butterfly’s touch
on a flowered dress,
vibrant as layered haze flowing the levels
like a diamond tide,
generous as the sea.
