Reflection 28th December 2014

In those days folk looked up to gauge the weather,
Some sought guidence, a key to the future.
Philosophers thought
such immensity put humans in their place.
Still sure that God resided above the darkness;
but always wondering.

We now know about stars.
Their age, composition,
enormity and distance;
but are still wondering,
needing more than bright lights.
yearning for significance, still seeking;
longing for the hope this soul-sapping year drained from us.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
We’ve lost track of who we are.
Come and rest on our house, and remind us…..
