We hosted our second ever All Hallows’ party and sleep over on sat 5th Nov. Syrian and local friends joined us for games, candy floss, Minion and Tangled films and pizza!
A personal highlight was seeing the young people organise and run the games, including a hilarious game of cooperative musical chairs where all 15 of the children piled on top of a very worried looking chair. Looking forward to next year already. Next time with ear plugs.
On Sunday morning we were joined for morning worship by friends from St Chad’s and St Michael’s, Headingley and we affirmed the following together:
We believe in a bright and amazing God,
who decorates the universe with bright light,
twinkling stars and brilliant colours,
again and again and again;
who has been to the depths of despair on our behalf;
who has risen in splendour and majesty.
We believe that Jesus is the light of the world;
that God believes in us, and trusts us,
even though we make the same mistakes
over and over again.
We commit ourselves to Jesus,
to one another as brothers and sisters,
and to the Maker’s wonderful way in the world.
God said: Let there be light. May we be the light of the world. Amen!
A huge thank you to all who made the weekend possible but especially to Heston and Lydia for all the hard work that they put in. They must be in need of another holiday now!
