What is the Electoral Roll?
The Electoral Roll is a sort of official membership of an Anglican church, it is the register of people qualified to attend and vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) where elections take place for the Parochial Church Council (PCC – the main decision making body of the parish church) and our representatives on Deanery Synod (the next level up in Church of England decision making). Our next APCM will be held on Sunday April 28th.
Why revise it?
Every six years we are required by the Church of England to “start again”, that is, delete everyone from the Electoral Roll and ask people to sign up again.
How do I join?
It is easy to sign up for the Electoral Roll, simply read and fill in the Electoral Roll Form, put it in an envelope (used/recycled is fine), label it as ‘Electoral Roll 2019’ and hand it to Heston, Lydia, Paul Magnall, Michael Lewis, Andrea Hill, Jan Betts or Rachel Parkes or post it through the vicarage door.
If you would like to know more then do please ask one of the above people. Printed copies are available at the church.
