Holy Rood House is a beautiful pair of houses in North Yorkshire, where you can go for rest, pastoral and therapeutic care, study, worship or group development. As a therapeutic community, they offer hospitality, as well as gardens with animals, art room, prayer cell and chapel, and fantastic cake.
They are looking for congregations who will link with them for ongoing partnership, sharing of vision and prayer. Twenty years ago, the founders, Stanley and Elizabeth Baxter, left All Hallows to set up Holy Rood, and we share many interests with them. The PCC at All Hallows’ has agreed that we should be one of their parish partners, and I will keep you updated on what this means, as it unfolds.
Do look at their website: www.holyroodhouse.org.uk which gives a good outline of what they offer. You may be interested in particular programmed retreats, or just a few days away in a supportive setting. I hope they will be able to come and visit us too, perhaps to offer some of their distinctive teaching on healing ministry.
