Felt Hanging

Designed by feltmaker Linda Hume and Pippa Julings, this hanging expresses through community process, something of our rainbow character at All Hallows. The design emerged from an image of a rainbow flag blowing in the wind, and was created over many months by groups of people meeting together at the church.

The core group were “Tuesdays Together”, a group for older people which has met for over twenty five years. Others joined in at key points of our congregational life, particularly in the barefoot wet stomping session, necessary to the felting process. Faces were sculpted by Linda to complete the hanging. It was presented to the church over Easter weekend, 2012.

It now resides at the front of the church worship area.
