ECO CHURCH

We believe the church has a vital role in the fight against the causes of climate breakdown and ecological destruction. Jesus’ call to love our neighbour compels us to seek climate justice and to take action to protect our world.

At All Hallows, this work begins at home with our community garden project and the action we’ve taken to become a certified Eco Church, as well as the time we spend in worship and prayer for our natural world during Creation season and throughout the year. Our work then broadens out as our Environment group organises and campaigns for local divestment and supports broader local action.

Our A Rocha Eco Church Award

In 2019, we were awarded a silver Eco Church award by A Rocha. We continue to work towards a Gold award, which will involve raising funds to improve our building.

Rainbow Junktion

Our cafe is a big part of our mission to be a green church, Each year, more than one third of food produced in the world goes to waste, and it is responsible for around 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions. By intercepting waste food and using it to feed people, we aim to raise awareness of this problem, while being part of the solution.
